We moved from the Atlanta area which had experienced a severe drought for 3 straight years so we were sensitized to water usage.

Within the house, low-flow lavatory faucets (<1.5 gal/minute), low-flow shower heads (<1.75 gal/minute) and dual-flush toilets are incorporated.  Outside the house, the landscape has been designed so that it should not require any watering after it has been established.

A rainwater retention system using a roof washer and two tanks totaling 675 gallons collect water from the house roof for use during the establishment of the landscape and for future vegetable garden use and car washing.
