The selected site is situated in a neighborhood developed in the early to mid-1900’s.  The site had been used as a garden side
yard for an existing residence.   Water, sewer, and sidewalks were already present.  Houses immediately adjacent to the site were modeled during the design process in order to ensure that we maintained a scale sympathetic to the neighborhood.
The site is locate
d within a ¼ mile of a gas station, auto repair shop, restaurant/bar, coffee shop, and a European style bakery.  A public golf course and 2 public parks are located within ½ mile of the site.  A major bike path leading to the University of Wisconsin and to downtown Madison is located a little more than ½ mile for the site.  Hilldale, one of the major shopping centers in Madison is located approximately 2 ½ miles away.

Approximately 160 transit rides are available on public transit within a ½ mile radius of the site.
