It is important to make sure that the house is operated efficiently. Along with our contractor, we created an operating manual to make sure that all equipment and the overall house was operated in the most efficient manner.
A lot of good work goes into creating a green house. This website, displaying a LEED sign
at the construction site and several newspaper articles on the project will hopefully further public awareness of the green building process. The house was also featured in the Sustainable Times in July, 2009 issue:
We have also hosted a number of tours of the house in order to promote sustainable building practices. In October, 2009, we were part of the Midwest Renewable Association’s solar tour.
